Community cohesion work
We can develop bespoke packages of positive activities for young people and adults to bring communities together. For example, we developed an intergenerational project for a community where young people and older people in a sheltered housing complex were frequently in dispute. We have also worked to bring ‘rival estates’ together, where young people have become involved in ‘gang-like’ behaviour.
Diversionary activities
By targeting groups of ‘problem youths’ or young people on housing estates and directing individuals towards activities that appeal to them – such as sports and music production, we are able to support communities to ensure any anti-social behaviour is tackled and young people are diverted to constructive use of time.
Family support / mentoring
In many of our programmes, we seek to engage with the carers or family members of young people as a means of bringing about lasting behaviour change and ensuring the young person has positive support networks. We also offer mentoring and peer mentoring approaches.
NEET Provision
Where 16-19 year olds have become disengaged in mainstream education and have not yet secured employment, we have a strong track record in delivering programmes of accredited education and career mentoring.
Healthy living initiatives
We promote positive health and wellbeing in communities by delivering health improvement activities and educating on healthy eating and exercise behaviours.
Employability skills & job search
Employability Skills qualifications are designed to support an individual successfully gaining a job, progressing in a chosen field, preparing the individual for further study and supporting the development of techniques required for successful independent living.
These qualifications are aimed at anyone who wants to live a more independent life, progress in education and/or their employment prospects; or get into a job
Day-care activity sessions
We work with mental health and substance misuse charities who schedule day care programmes for their service users.
Our focus is very much on supporting sustained recovery. The activities we deliver are based on the ‘Five ways to Wellbeing’, an evidence based set of actions which promote peoples wellbeing:
